We believe that marketing is equal parts art and science. We love the open field of creativity and artistry that paints the paisley skies of our imaginations. But, the other part of us just read that last sentence and rolled our eyes.

Art without action is just…pretty.

After the open fields close, we approach the application of our creativity with the same rigor and eager measurement of a scientist in the lab, continually trying one more formula to get a better result.

Erin Brady

Erin Brady is the Co-Founder and Marketing Operations Officer (MOO) of Define Mktg. Twenty years in marketing has taught her that you can never count on marketing staying the same for more than, oh, 24 hours, max. That’s what makes her job exciting and challenging every day. She is a jack-of-all-trades marketer with deep experience working with engineering, logistics, IT network design, and education organizations.

As a marketer, she is committed to learning something new every day–about the solutions we provide, the experts surrounding her, the customers we serve, or the marketing landscape we’re navigating–to apply that knowledge in innovative and insightful ways.

Sales enablement, web design, user experience, search engine optimization, project management, and figuring out cool ways to use chatbots and marketing response automation and tracking are her jam. Nerdy, right? We like that about her.

More things we love about Erin:
She’s a Christian, wife, and baseball-softball-dance mom to 3 amazing kids. When you meet her, she is a sharp as a tack, convivial, and jocular force to be reckoned with, especially when it comes to solving 3D wooden puzzles or executing marketing initiatives of any kind.

Erin earned a BBA in marketing from Lamar University and holds LEED AP and HubSpot Marketing Software certifications.

Laine Harper

Laine Harper is the Co-Founder and Marketing Executive + Experience Person (MEEP) of Define Mktg. After 20 years in the business, Laine still claims that Marketing was her first love. She is at her best when she’s solving a business puzzle and asking (so many) questions about growth, differentiation, vision, brand development, brand recognition, and developing pictures of success.

She has deep experience working with insurance brokerage, financial services, logistics, and building materials organizations as well as experience with non-profits, manufacturers, engineers, tradesmen, professional cleaners, and educators.

To Laine, marketing is the mortar in and among the bricks of a business; it might not stay together if not applied throughout the organization. More analogies? Hair tie for your professional ponytail, belt for your business britches, the spiral binding in your company notebook, water for your growth garden…

In short, it matters. And meaningful marketing is her obsession passion. 

When not hanging out with her adorable pupper, Abby, Laine is woodworking, costume designing, biking, cooking, or enjoying company with friends and family.  

Laine earned a bachelor of journalism in advertising from the University of Missouri, a master of business administration in marketing and international business from Loyola University Chicago, and holds several HubSpot software certifications.
